Bank Routes: Below are some of our old favourites

Below are some of our old favourites that the Oakley Pedalers ride frequently. We have also included some winter routes using gritted roads for when when weather conditions are not so cycling friendly.

Social Group Routes  

  • North – 42 miles – Monk Sherborne, Baughurst, Woolhampton, Yattendon, Bucklebury, Brimpton, Ramsdell, Ibworth, Malshanger, Oakley.
  • South – 41 miles – North Waltham, Axford, Medstead, Bighton, Alresford, Avington, Kings Worthy, Micheldever, North Waltham, Oakley.
  • East – 42 miles – Sherborne St John, Bramley, Stratfield Saye, Mattingley, Winchfield, Odiham, Upton Grey, Cliddesden, FARLEIGH, North Waltham, Oakley.
  • West – 40 miles – Hannington, Cole Henley, St Mary Bourne, STOKE HILL, Smannell, Whitchurch, Popham, North Waltham, Oakley.
  • Icy Default Route – 42 miles – Hatch Warren, Cliddesden, Upton Grey, Herriard, Preston Candover, Northington, Micheldever, Steventon, Oakley.
  • Evening – 19 miles.

Intermediate Group Routes

  • North – 52 miles – Ramsdell, Baughurst, Woolhampton, Bucklebury, Hamstead Norreys, Chieveley, Hermitage, Cold Ash, Brimpton, Kingsclere, Harrow Way, Oakley.
  • South – 54 miles – North Waltham, Axford, Herriard, Lasham, Medstead, Four Marks, Ropley, Alresford, Avington, Kings Worthy, Stoke Charity, Steveton, Oakley.
  • East – 52 miles – Sherborne St John, Bramley, Silchester, Mortimer, Stratfield Saye, Rotherwick, Mattingley, Winchfield, Odiham, Herriard, Ellisfield, Dummer, North Waltham, Oakley.
  • West – 51 miles – Hannington, Kingsclere, Sydmonton, Woolton Hill, Ashmansworth, Hurstbourne Tarrant, STOKE HILL, Smannell, Whitchurch, Popham, North Waltham, Oakley.
  • Icy Default Route – 51 miles – Hatch Warren, Farleigh, Axford, The Candovers, Northington, Micheldever, Overton, Whitchurch, Kingsclere, Baughurst, Hannington, Malshanger, Oakley.
  • Evening – 24 miles.

  • South – 56 miles – Overton, Sutton Scotney, Kings Worthy, Alresford, Cheriton, Kilmeston, Warnford, Bishops Sutton, The Candovers, Axford, North Waltham, Oakley.

If you are planning a winter ride then please consider the weather conditions. It may be required to stick to roads that have been gritted & salted in order to ensure the safety of the riders. Please refer to the council websites linked below in order to find maps detailing the winter road treatment plans.
